Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How do you clean dirty baseballs?
A: Put your entire bucket of dirty baseballs and cleaning compound into The Oyster's specially designed drum and turn on the timer.  In as little as 1 hour*, you will have a bucket of clean baseballs, aka pearls. (*Length of time depends on dirtiness level of balls, ranging from 1 hour to an overnight cleaning session).

Q: What is the Oyster?
A: The Oyster is a revolutionary device that cleans a bucket of dirty baseballs at one time.

Q: How does The Oyster work?
A: The Oyster uses tumbling elastomer technology to gently clean dirt off the leather of baseballs without causing harm to the seams. Read more on the How Does It Work page.

Q: Where is Between the Lines LLC located?
A: Between the Lines is the company behind The Oyster and is operated from the Dallas, TX area.

Q: How much does the Oyster cost?
A: The standard retail price of The Oyster is $1699, but it can easily save your program thousands! Check out InnovativeBaseball.com, the official Oyster web store, for pricing information.

Q: Where is The Oyster manufactured?
A: The Oyster is manufactured in the USA, so it is sturdy, reliable, and good for the US economy!

Q: How many baseballs can The Oyster clean at once?
A: The Oyster can handle 20-30 baseballs at once.

Q: How long does it take to clean the balls?
A: It depends on the dirtiness level of the balls. "Indoor" cage balls that are moderately black from netting usually take about 1 hour. Moderately dirty "outdoor" balls take about 2-3 hours, and really filthy baseballs can take 12 or more hours. The idea is to maintain the "whiteness" of your baseballs so it will only take a couple of hours for each Oyster session.

Q: Can I place wet baseballs in The Oyster?
A: Absolutely. The Oyster will still clean wet baseballs, however it cannot de-waterlog a baseball.

Q: Can I order the "Got Dirty Balls" T-shirt?
A: Yes, check out InnovativeBaseball.com, The Oyster's official web store.

Q: Does Between the Lines LLC accept purchase orders?
A: Yes, just give us a call and we'll take care of you.

Q: Does the Oyster use water to clean baseballs.
A: No, not at all. The tumbling elastomer technology that The Oyster uses is a dry process.
